- From glenn , apparently there are Kantou and Kansai styles of juuden?
- At some point, the continuation of teaching the juuden regionalized, and slight differences in style / sequence emerged. Dunno when.
General themes
- “Oo-meibutsu dougu is purified with shin-sabaki fukukusa opened up,” ie when doing chaire doubuki. Need to confirm this.
- “All of the juuden use Magemono Mizutsugi.” This conflicts with some of my notes, need to confirm.
Okashi
All shin temae use 7 sweets (Shin no...). All other temae use 5 sweets (Gyo no... and Sou no...).
My thoughts on the juuden
They’re like unfinished manuscripts where the author is trying things out. Not every idea ends up seeing the light of day. The good ideas make it into finished manuscripts (ie other temae).
The reason we’re seeing so much “weird” in the juuden is because they are experiments.
