Kensui does still need to move, even if you don’t take anything out of it, ie hishaku and futaoki are already displayed on the tana. (ref glenn)
Temporary chashaku placement
When replacing the natsume after haiken, if the mizusashi is too unstable to temporarily rest the chashaku, it is legal to place on the tana.
glenn was not sure where exactly, but placing on the ten-ita (a la Daien no Shin) seems fair.
