Leaving the hishaku on the oo-ita after usucha

  • Kamae.
  • Move futaoki slightly to the right of its current position (it will end up R of hishaku handle).
  • With R, place hishaku vertical onto the lacquer.
    • This is also what you do for Gogyodana when you place it on top — it’s the same futaoki / hishaku positioning.

With the kama centered on your body in Nakaoki, this is no problem.
