Everything in this section is from suzuki sensei.
In ro specifically, shitabi should be pointing straight up, not tented. There should be some space between the shitabi for airflow.
- Dario note: Why ro specifically… is this because furo shitabi are smaller and won’t last as long if they get that much airflow?
In general, sumi is placed from largest to smallest. Sumi should all be tented, with the tops touching each other and the bottoms spread apart to allow for airflow.
