Usually, we would hold the hane roughly ~6’ and 3’, holding roughly from the front to avoid the kama lid. However, when placing kantsuki, you have much more room. It’s better to hold from 9’ and 3’, then fully reach over the lid with your left hand.
Bowl placement is still biased to the right of the lid. I usually line up the left edge of the bowl to be tangent to the lid.
