Tips
- Doing this in ro is tricky with Yojohan-giri due to spacing. Better to do this in furo. Or do something like Mukougiri.
Theory
- No walking back and forth between big space and small space at beginning / end. Timing doesn’t change though for fukusa koshi.
- Entrance is “direct”. Just walk to your spot how you would usually in yojohan.
- 3 people on the kyakudatami though, like in Hira Kagetsu after everybody steps into the smaller space.
- No kuriage at the beginning. Shobana goes to their spot, then when they stand with kensui, original teishu goes to the hole left by shobana.
- Walking is all best-effort. Once someone walks past you and clears the way, you walk.
- Zagawari after final bowl returns + sorei is just teishu going back to their original karioki position.
- This means that teishu is sitting in karioki when shimaibana exits the fumikomi. Walking is awkward, you just go around teishu.
