The kakego needs to be open to take the kogo, because in old times, a kinuta kogo (very tall) used to live IN the box.
Kobun moku 「好文木」→ in kodo, uguisu are also used, but it’s a straight needle instead of being bent like a paperclip in chabako. Paper is poked on like orders at a restaurant. This looks like a tree, and uguisu is attracted to plum, hence why the pokey thing is called an uguisu.
Lid of the box should line up with the last board of the kizue.
Kizue to start, knot should be on the underside and right.
Kizue opening
For haiken-nashi, ignore the book temae order!
CHASEN CHAKIN KARA NO FUKURO.
This means that when putting things away, you pull the box, then immediately put the tsutsu away.
Lifting the kizue to wipe, treat it like wiping bon. Nigiriconde hane, support with R, lift with L.
(Personal note: poking the hole with uguisu is scary. In most places, uguisu seems to be placed 1/4 down from the top of the kizue).
Furidashi can come back any time! No need to sit and wait for it as teishu. (This is probably general for chabako, but I need to think about the differences).
