Notes
- TODO Sarah K said they did sou-kazari nakajimai, and the way they did it was holding the two, then scooting side, then placing up. Do you do this? (Also araijakin?) how does this fit into the 7? ask-glenn ➕ 2023-07-22 ✅ 2024-04-08
- Originally he was taught that the tokushu temae are all honjimai, meaning that araijakin should be honjimai. However, the new books show nakajimai, and it feels like he’s given up lol. Nakajimai, sure.
- For sou-kazari, he has never heard of that being done.
- TODO 7 futaoki handling - mitsuba? Sazae? ask-glenn ➕ 2023-07-22 ✅ 2024-04-08
- See Rikyu’s Seven Futaoki — answered there.
Cool note from Sarah: there are 3 “gochiso” points in Araijakin.
- When you first take out the chakin from the bowl
- When you do the initial wringing of the chakin over the bowl
- When you pour the water into the kensui from the bowl
